Many paperbacks have damaged or missing barcodes. Bokily’s cover scan uses on-device text recognition so you can still create a high-quality listing in seconds.

The photo is processed on your phone and deleted locally — we never upload your cover photo. Matching uses free Open Library catalog data for title, author, ISBN when available, and a real cover image.

No. Bokily is a location-first book exchange network. We measure success by books exchanged nearby, not by ads or listing count.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Guests can explore nearby titles. Sign in only to request, list, or message.

How does cover scan work?

On-device OCR reads the cover on your phone. The photo is not uploaded. Open Library supplies free catalog metadata and cover art for the listing.

Is the Android app free?

Yes. The public beta APK is free to download and sideload. Google Play and iOS come after Android validation.
